The Switchboard Engineer II is responsible for Designing Low Voltage Switchboards and Panelboards. This role requires great attention to detail with a preference for self-starting mentality. All products must be designed using applicable safety standards & regulations (National Electric Code, Underwriters, Laboratories, etc).
The Engineer will also be responsible for mentoring and leading other team members as needed.
Primary Job Responsibilities: - Design 3D sheet metal parts with flat patterns
- Complete 3D Assemblies (150+ Item BOM)
- Follow design life cycle states and design standards
- Create wiring diagrams using PLCs, breaker accessories, relays, contractors, power supplies, etc.
- Create and understand 2D Front View, One-Line/Single-Line and Layout drawings using CAD Software
- Ensure clear communication between Engineering, Manufacturing and other key stakeholders.
- Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from clients and develop design solutions
- Ensure clear communication with suppliers/vendors on an as-needed basis
Qualifications / Experience:- Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar
- 4 - 8 years of professional experience (working for UL891 OEM or Equivalent)
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (Autodesk Suite preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
- Excellent Oral & Written Communication Skills
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with UL891, UL67, UL508A or UL1558
- Experience reading/understanding National Electric Code
- Experience sizing conductors and OCPDs
- Experience with Control Circuits and Logic
