The Chief Learning Officer & Senior Vice President oversees the Medical Education Division, with a staff of approximately 40 employees and independent contractors. Position is responsible for a broad portfolio of educational programs, products, and services, including ACP's Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP), Internal Medicine In-Training Exam (ITE), scientific program oversight for the annual Internal Medicine Meeting, ACP Board Review courses, Instructional Design offerings, awarded grants, and other established educational derivative products. This position reports to the EVP/CEO and serves as the senior educational representative of the College to other educational stakeholder organizations, and represents the College at various external meetings and functions.
We are seeking a proven leader who is committed to producing innovative and dynamic medical education programs that serve learner needs. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the continuum of medical education from training through professional practice, educational trends; and professional requirements such as initial and continuing certification and CME.
Successful candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. with residency training and board certification in internal medicine. Demonstrated experience in the following areas is required:
- Extensive experience in medical, graduate medical, and continuing medical education in traditional and non-traditional settings. Ability to develop and edit various type of clinical content.
- Provides strategic direction on the development of online medical knowledge products and services.
- Ability to foster and maintain relationships with other professional organizations across the spectrum of medicine.
- Fiscal management, business development, and collaborative planning with staff as well as outside organizations.
- Ability to work across the ACP organization to assist in funding opportunities (Foundations, Government, and Industry).
- Ability to lead and work in cross divisional teams to accomplish ACP strategic goals.
