Role OverviewTransformation and Strategic Change is a team of forward-deployed Strategists and Quantitative Research Analysts that focus primarily on driving enterprise-wide transformation and delivering systematic change across people, process, and technology, including AI. The group collaborates with multiple parts of the firm, including Portfolio Management, Legal and Compliance, Client Management, Human Resources, and Operations.
Our team operates on three strategic drivers: first, we map and enhance systems and workflows with AIenabled solutions. Second, we work directly with business leaders to test and optimize the transformation solutions developed and thirdly, we partner with business technology teams to deploy these solutions across PIMCO.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple transformational projects that leverage AI and have broad impact across the firm
- Map business and investment workflows and value-creation processes across all areas of the firm
- Apply structured diagnostic and prioritization frameworks to evaluate processes, identify transformation opportunities, and select highvalue use cases
- Support IP leverage and scale-out of solutions across multiple transformation domains (e.g., legal, tax, onboarding, investment support)
- Collaborate with business leaders firm-wide to ensure the solutions are scalable, effective, and deliverable within PIMCO's ecosystem
- Grow the team's transformation capabilities through embedded partnerships with business units
- Mentor junior Forward Deployed Engineers and Strategists in the team
Requirements
- 10+ years of Investment Management industry experience
- Proven track record of leading technology-enabled change in large organizations
- Proven success influencing senior stakeholders and aligning crossfunctional leaders around tradeoffs, operatingmodel changes, and funding decisions
- Strong judgment on build/buy/partner decisions and the ability to negotiate scope, SLAs, and success criteria with internal and external partners
- Handson experience redesigning target operating models across different functions
- Strong capability to quantify business valueproductivity gains, efficiency improvements, cost savings, or clientexperience enhancementsto support ROI modeling
- Experience orchestrating solutions that combine information extraction, workflow automation, decision engines, and insight generation into endtoend business processes
- Exceptional executive communicationbriefs complex topics crisply, frames decisions and risks, and writes clear, decisionready materials
- Ethical, intellectually curious, collaborative, organized, flexible, high energy, self-starter, accountable, humble
- Formal training and strong interest in some of the following areas: artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, finance theory
- MBA or relevant masters (e.g., MS in Finance/CS/Data Science) preferred
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science or other technical field
PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 250,000.00 - $ 305,000.00
