SVP- Business Development- Auto Solutions PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The Senior Vice President of Business Development is a key senior leader responsible for driving organizational growth, expanding market presence, and developing long-term strategic partnerships. This role leads part of the business development function, identifies high-value opportunities, and collaborates with senior leadership to execute the company's growth strategy. The SVP provides visionary direction, builds strong external relationships, and ensures alignment between business development initiatives and overall organizational goals. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE Strategic Leadership • Develops and leads the company's business development strategy to support long-term growth and competitive positioning. • Evaluates market trends, emerging opportunities, and industry shifts to inform strategic decision-making. • Partners with the executive team to set revenue goals, growth targets, and organizational priorities. Business Growth & Market Expansion • Identifies, pursues, and secures new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisitions. • Oversees pipeline development and ensures consistent advancement of high-value opportunities. • Expands the company's footprint in existing and new markets by building relationships with key stakeholders and industry leaders. Relationship Management • Cultivates and maintains strong executive-level relationships with clients, partners, investors, and external organizations. • Represents the company at industry events, conferences, and business forums to elevate brand visibility. • Negotiates high-impact contracts, agreements, and partnerships that align with organizational goals. Team Leadership & Development • Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing business development team with a focus on accountability, innovation, and results. • Fosters cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Product teams. • Establishes performance metrics, monitoring systems, and reporting mechanisms to drive team success. Financial & Operational Excellence • Oversees budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for business development initiatives. • Uses data-driven insights to evaluate opportunity viability, ROI, and strategic risks. • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, legal standards, and industry regulations. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, risk management, or a related field, from an accredited college or university preferred. Possession of, or progress towards, CPCU and/or ARM designation required. Ten plus (10+) years of related experience, to include relationship building in the claims management or risk management area, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Proven track record of leading large scale growth initiatives and securing high value partnerships. Executive Senior leadership experience within a complex, high growth, or multi-unit organization. Skills & Knowledge • Ability to demonstrate strong strategic thinking and translate market insights into enterprise-level growth strategies • Excellent understanding of business development, including mergers & acquisitions, competitive positioning, and market expansion. • Ability to evaluate complex opportunities through financial modeling, ROI assessment, and risk analysis. • Ability to exhibit exceptional executive presence and influence senior leaders, boards, and external partners. • Ability to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and results within the business development function. • Ability to drive cross-functional alignment across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Product teams to advance organizational strategy. • Strong skills in building and managing executive-level relationships with C-suite leaders, investors, and strategic partners. • Strong skills in negotiation with demonstrated success securing high-value contracts, partnerships, and joint ventures. • Ability to communicate complex business opportunities and strategic initiatives through compelling executive-level presentations and messaging. • Excellent understanding of financial and operational leadership, including budgeting, forecasting, pipeline oversight, and resource allocation. • Ability to identify emerging market trends and lead innovative strategies to expand market presence and drive transformation. • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion in high-stakes, fast-paced environments. • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
