Summary

NFP, an Aon company, is seeking a Senior Vice President, Professional Liability to provide strategic leadership for our Professional Liability practice, encompassing Management Liability, Cyber Liability, and Professional Liability solutions. This executive will be responsible for driving profitable growth, growing market presence, strengthening carrier relationships, and leading a high-performing team of brokers and client service professionals nationwide.

The SVP will serve as a key advisor to executive leadership, producers, and clients, helping build the strategic direction of the practice while delivering innovative risk management and insurance solutions to complex commercial clients. This individual will be recognized as a market leader and subject matter expert, capable of cultivating executive-level client relationships and influencing industry trends.

This role may be based remotely, hybrid, or in-office, with a preference for candidates located near a major NFP office or key insurance marketplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth
  • Develop and implement a national growth strategy for the Professional Liability practice, including Management Liability, Cyber Liability, and Professional Liability product lines.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion through strategic business development initiatives and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Partner with regional and national leadership to establish long-term business objectives, performance metrics, and growth plans.
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging market trends, evolving risk exposures, and industry opportunities.
Client & Business Development Leadership
  • Serve as executive relationship manager for key clients, prospects, and centers of influence.
  • Lead complex client engagements involving sophisticated risk management, insurance placement, and program design strategies.
  • Participate in strategic sales initiatives, RFP responses, finalist presentations, and new business pursuits.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite clients on evolving management liability, cyber, and professional liability risks.
Market & Carrier Leadership
  • Maintain executive-level relationships with insurance carriers, wholesalers, and underwriting leadership.
  • Negotiate highly complex placements involving large-account and specialty risks.
  • Influence carrier appetite, coverage enhancements, and product development initiatives.
  • Establish preferred carrier strategies and drive marketplace innovation.
Talent & Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of brokers and practice specialists across multiple locations.
  • Recruit, retain, and cultivate top industry talent.
  • Establish performance expectations, succession plans, and professional development programs.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with NFP's PeopleFirst values.
Operational Excellence
  • Supervise practice-wide adherence to service standards, compliance protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, production metrics, and financial results.
  • Implement scalable processes that improve efficiency, client experience, and profitability.
  • Partner with operations and technology teams to enhance workflow and data management capabilities.
Industry Leadership
  • Represent NFP at industry conferences, association events, and carrier meetings.
  • Contribute thought leadership through speaking engagements, publications, and market insights.
  • Enhance NFP's brand recognition and reputation within the professional liability marketplace.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Deep expertise in Management Liability, Cyber Liability, Professional Liability, and related executive risk products.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale brokerage operations, business units, or specialty practices.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior partners internally and externally.
  • Advanced negotiation, strategic planning, and business development capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change and drive sustained revenue growth.
  • Strong financial acuity, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills across clients, carriers, and internal leadership teams.
  • Ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in a dynamic environment.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 15+ years of progressive insurance brokerage experience, with substantial leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success managing large books of business, specialty practices, or regional/national brokerage operations.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing teams and driving profitable business growth.
  • Extensive carrier relationships and recognized marketplace credibility within executive risk and professional liability sectors.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
  • Active Property & Casualty License required.
  • CPCU, RPLU, ARM, CIC, CRM, or other advanced industry designations strongly preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $225,000.00 - $290,000.00. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
