Job Description:
The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Air Force's Space and Missiles System Center. We support the Air Force's acquisition of state of the art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems. You must be authorized to work in the US and able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, coordinate, execute testing and provide terminal operations support on the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS), Air Force Command Post Terminal (AFCPT), Time Distribution Subsystem Pre Processor (TDSPP), Milstar Messaging System (MMS), Global Broadcast Service (GBS), Ground Multi-band Terminal (GMT), various other systems, subsystems and MILSATCOM devices
- Provide engineering and technician-level support for each of the above systems, including integration, communication circuit troubleshooting, and system-level anomaly resolution
- Identify and isolate software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the client with regards to the modifications
- Author and deliver technical documentation including test plans, test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports
Required Skills & Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or equivalent technical discipline
- 1-3 Years of system engineering or test and evaluation experience
- Knowledge of DoD mission system sustainment
- Must be a motivated, self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-job learning/improvement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills
- Ability to understand DoD/USAF test processes and documentation
- Ability to understand working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships
- Ability to understand MILSATCOM equipment and troubleshooting
- You must be authorized to work in the US and able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Skills & Experiences:
- International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification (i.e. ASEP, CSEP, ESEP)
- Specific experience operating or maintaining the following: MPSS, FAB-T, AFCPT, TDSPP, MMS, GMT, GBS Receive Suites, cryptographic equipment (e.g., KIV-7M, ANDVT, KGV-11, KG-250), or related infrastructure and/or support equipment
- Be able to attain a TS/SCI clearance
