We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to help us create the future of lunar surface mobility in a fast-paced startup environment. As a Test Engineer you will play a crucial role in the testing and evaluation of vehicle systems at Lunar Outpost and specialized test facilities. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to test systems that optimize performance in spaceflight environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and protocols for aerospace systems (hardware, software, or integrated systems)
- Design and set up test fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
- Execute functional, environmental, structural, and performance tests
- Analyze test data and generate clear, actionable reports
- Identify root causes of failures and support troubleshooting and corrective actions
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve product performance
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., FAA, NASA, MIL-STD, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254)
- Support qualification, certification, and verification activities
- Maintain accurate documentation for testing processes and results
- Assist with continuous improvement of test methods, tools, and lab capabilities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in test engineering or systems engineering (aerospace or highly regulated industry preferred)
- Experience with test instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals (mechanics, electronics, or systems)
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, Excel)
- Experience with test documentation and reporting
- Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a related discipline
- NASA or spaceflight program experience
- Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC)
- Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS9100, DO-160, MIL-STD
- Hands-on experience with automation and scripting for test systems
- Knowledge of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system integration testing
- Experience supporting certification programs (FAA/EASA)
