Position Overview:
Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is looking to hire a senior Sustainment Engineer to lead the sustainment engineering function for a strategic DoD program. In this senior role, you will own the technical sustainment of our products across their lifecycle; driving reliability, maintainability and engineering support for deployed systems. You will serve as the senior technical authority ensuring program systems remain mission ready throughout their operational life.

Note:This position is contingent upon award of an anticipated federal contract.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the sustainment engineering strategy for fielded program kits across their full operational lifecycle.
  • Drive reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) analysis and improvement across deployed systems.
  • Own obsolescence management and technology refresh planning, including diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS) mitigation.
  • Lead engineering root cause analysis and corrective action for fielded system failures and recurring issues.
  • Define and maintain sustainment engineering processes, standards, and technical documentation across the program.
  • Partner with the supply chain, configuration management, and production teams to manage engineering changes, spares strategy, and repair workflows.
  • Provide senior engineering support for deployed systems, including troubleshooting escalations and field issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain sustainment metrics, reliability reporting, and lifecycle cost analysis for program leadership.
  • Lead technology insertion and modernization planning to keep fielded systems mission-ready and secure.
  • Serve as the senior technical interface to the customer on sustainment matters; represent the program in sustainment reviews and technical engagements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to sustainment engineering standards across the program.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive systems or sustainment engineering experience supporting DoD or federal programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading sustainment engineering for fielded hardware or hardware/software integrated systems.
  • Experience with reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) analysis and lifecycle sustainment.
  • Experience with obsolescence management and DMSMS mitigation.
  • Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action for fielded systems.
  • Experience with engineering change management, spares planning, and repair workflows.
  • Strong technical leadership, customer-facing communication, and documentation skills.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday to support delivery order fulfillment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting DoD Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) programs.
  • Experience sustaining deployable or tactical edge computing platforms.
  • Experience with lifecycle cost analysis and sustainment metrics reporting.
  • Experience with technology refresh and modernization planning for fielded DoD systems.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, technical data packages, and BOM-driven sustainment.
  • Experience supporting business development and proposal efforts.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
