SUSTAINABILITY SPECIALIST, ESG DISCLOSURE

Position

Sustainability Specialist, ESG Disclosure (Fixed-Term, 12 months)

Introduction

Reporting to the VP, Sustainability and supporting the corporate Sustainability team, the Sustainability Specialist, ESG Disclosure plays a crucial role in promoting and implementing sustainability initiatives within B2Gold.

Location

This is a full-time position based at B2Gold's Corporate Office in Vancouver, Canada. The role follows our hybrid work model of four days in-office and one day remote each week.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, writing, and production of the Company's Responsible Mining Report and Climate Strategy Report, including alignment with leading frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD);
  • Manage and support the development of other sustainability-related disclosures;
  • Manage external assurance processes, including conformance with the World Gold Council's Responsible Gold Mining Principles (including the Conflict-Free Gold Standard), and evolving sustainability standards;
  • Continuously improve reporting processes, including identifying opportunities to enhance data collection efficiency and reporting tools;
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of corporate, regional, and site-level sustainability standards, procedures, and guidelines;
  • Support the corporate sustainability team on strategic initiatives and special projects;
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, standards, and industry best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement; and,
  • Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant field of study, such as Environmental, Sustainability, Earth Sciences, Economics, Engineering or related subjects;
  • Good knowledge of sustainability principles, regulations, and industry standards;
  • Minimum seven years of experience in a similar role (mining industry experience preferred);
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high level of commitment to meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated experience in reporting writing and public presentations;
  • Ability to work with different cultures across different time zones;
  • Superb multi-tasking, organizational, time-management skills with ability to prioritize;
  • Keen attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to be proactive, professional and thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to represent B2Gold at senior levels;
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong leadership capabilities to mentor and develop teams;
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required;
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft software (Word, Outlook, Excel, Project); and,
  • Strong English written, verbal and presentation skills, required.

Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to projects in challenging jurisdictions a strong asset.

Job Demands/Physical Requirements
  • This position will be based at B2Gold's corporate office in Vancouver, Canada, with a hybrid work arrangement (4 days on site + 1 day working from home).

Compensation

B2Gold offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary commensurate with the candidate's experience, knowledge and skill set, and a comprehensive benefit package for employees and their eligible dependents. The base salary range for this position is CAD $100,000 - $115,000 per annum, which is the anticipated pay at the time of hire but does not reflect similar future job opportunities. Details of the total compensation package will be shared during the interview process.
