Sustainability Manager
Location: Southeastern, US


As the Sustainability Manager atDrax, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing fibre sourcingand chain-of-custody certifications that meet UK subsidy regulatoryrequirements. Additionally, your role will be integral to achieving the targetsset out in the Drax Sustainability Framework. You will leverage certificationrequirements and collaborate closely with the Drax Corporate Sustainabilityteam to ensure these goals are met.

Your Day-to-Day as a Sustainability Manager. You'll be:

  • Ensuring that the necessary certifications for UK subsidies are maintained to facilitate pellet sales in the UK.
  • Provide technical support for sustainability certification programs, staying updated on any changes.
  • Offer direct assistance to Drax Group for reporting purposes, which is essential for ESG and annual reports.
  • Conduct ongoing audits of Fibre Procurement processes to ensure compliance.
  • Manage both internal and external audit processes to guarantee that all certificates remain valid.

What you'll bring:
To excel in this vital role, you'll need:

  • A bachelor's degree in forestry or Natural Resources is required, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Applied knowledge in forest management, forest sourcing, or natural resource management is required; experience with forest certification is ideal.
  • Strong analytical skills are required, including proficiency in Excel. Familiarity with 3Log or other data management systems is preferred, as well as experience with ArcGIS.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively.
