Job Description
Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Hours per Shift: 5 shifts per week, 36 guaranteed hours
Experience: Minimum of 3 years
License: Required
Certifications: BLS, Graduate of any accredited surgical technologist program (must be certified). Prefer NBSTSA-CST.
Must-Have:
- 3 years of CST experience
- Experience in General and Orthopedic surgery, specifically total joints
- Preferred experience in Plastics
- Experience in Trauma Level 3 & 4 or Critically Access Hospitals
Description:
Department has 7 surgical suites.
Average number of cases per day is between 5 to 25.
Common cases include general surgery, orthopedic/sports medicine, plastics and cosmetics, podiatry, cataracts/eye procedures, and non-cancer related OB/GYN/women's health.
Must be willing to work in a rural community hospital that performs a wide variety of cases.
Schedule consists of 5 eight-hour shifts per week from 0645 to 1515, with late stay and on-call rotations.
Flexibility is needed to fill gaps in permanent scheduling.
On-call requirements include late stays 1-2 times per week, typically Monday to Friday with an average of 15.5 hours during the week.
Weekend on-call shifts are 24 hours from Saturday 0645 to Sunday 0645, 1-2 times per month.
Holidays may require participation in a call rotation the day before, the day of, and the day after, which can include weekends around holidays.
Call response time required is 30 minutes.
May be asked to float into OR scrub roles, PAA/PACU, and sterile processing as needed.
Scrub color and dress code are provided by the facility, and staff should arrive presenting themselves professionally.
Orientation involves 1-2 shifts with a preceptor and 1-2 call shifts with a preceptor.
