JOB DESCRIPTION:

The OMP Staff Podiatrist advocates for patient-centered care and demonstrates a strong ability in interpersonal communications and effective relations with public, patients, clinic staff, supervisors, and coworkers. Podiatrists must be competent in the provision of medical services in specialty field, consistently demonstrate the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner and to handle workplace stress appropriately, and provide leadership by example within clinic team. The OMP Staff Podiatrist is dedicated to OMC's Mission, Vision, and Values.

EDUCATION
  • Graduation from an approved school of podiatric medicine and surgery


  • One of the following:
  • completion of one-year postgraduate podiatric medical training program, approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education of the American Podiatric Medical Association OR
  • fulfillment of certification by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS) or the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine (ABPOPPM).


  • Maintains appropriate continuing medical education credits per Washington State and OMC Medical Staff requirements


EXPERIENCE
  • Two (2) or more years of podiatry experience preferred


LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS
  • Board-certified or active participation in the examination process leading to certification in area of specialty; recertifies at appropriate intervals per specialty board requirements
  • Maintains an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington
  • Maintains current DEA registration
  • Maintains appropriate privileges and membership on the OMC Medical Staff
