Full Job Description
About the Role

Neighbor has aggregated a meaningful share of the country's traditional storage supply. The next frontier is building supply that doesn't exist yet: placing modular storage units on residential and commercial properties to create mini storage facilities in the markets where renters need them most. As Supply Expansion Lead, you own that program end to end.

This is a true zero-to-one role. You'll figure out the financing structure, build the host sales motion from scratch, manage the vendor relationship, drive demand to live units, and prove the unit economics hold up before we scale. You're not stepping into a playbook. You're writing one. If you want to own something complex, prove an idea from the ground up, and compress years of learning into months, this is the seat.

Responsibilities

  • Build the host sales motion from scratch: identify target markets and properties, develop the pitch, and convince residential and commercial property owners to commit capital to an unproven program
  • Construct the host-level financial models that make the investment case, and present them clearly to non-technical property owners
  • Own Neighbor's relationship with modular storage vendors, including unit procurement, pricing, delivery logistics, and contract terms
  • Design and pressure-test the financing and program structure, from Neighbor-owned and co-invested units early on to host-financed models as the concept proves out
  • Work cross-functionally to drive demand to live locations and hit occupancy targets, leaning on local growth strategies built for each site
  • Track program performance against clear KPIs (occupancy, host net income, time-to-stabilization, host acquisition cost) and use the data to decide where to scale and where to cut
  • Run a tight, well-measured pilot that generates the evidence Neighbor needs to make the call on scaling

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Strategy, Economics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in real estate investing, investment banking, consulting, entrepreneurship, or a related field
  • Financial modeling proficiency: able to build an investment model from scratch and explain the output to a non-technical audience
  • Sales ability: a track record of convincing people to commit capital or make a significant decision based on your recommendation
  • Operational discipline: prioritizes ruthlessly, stays organized across multiple workstreams under ambiguity, and follows through without being reminded
  • Grit: demonstrated follow-through on hard problems, professionally, athletically, academically, or otherwise

Nice to haves

  • Experience building a new business line or program from scratch, ideally at an early-stage startup
  • Background in self-storage, logistics, real estate, or another physical-goods industry
  • Comfort operating at startup pace with high autonomy and shifting priorities
  • MBA or advanced degree

Benefits

  • Generous Stock options
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous PTO
  • 11 paid company holidays
  • Hybrid work model - WFH every Monday
  • 401(k) plan
  • Infant care leave
  • On-site gym/showers open 24/7
