JOB SUMMARYThe Director of Supply Chain Solutions is responsible for the operations and financial performance of the Supply Chain Solutions social enterprise unit. The unit has both federal and commercial contracts
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Department Management a. Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with disability inclusion and financial goals.
b. Manage the logistics, distribution, and transportation strategy.
c. Drive quality, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and productivity initiatives.
d. Establish and monitor supply chain KPIs and performance dashboards
e. Work closely with Sales to achieve new business and expand existing business to support revenue growth and margin stability.
f. Development of teams across multiple shifts, amplifying Relay's mission by designing strength-based approaches to work.
g. Responsible for knowing and understanding all applicable policies, procedures, and work rules.
- Manage customer pre- and on-boarding stages, including signed contract, accurate SOP(s), audit or QA process, appropriate pricing, and implementation with the team.
i. Streamline overall production and capacity of Supply Chain Solutions in repeatable processes with well-determined SOPs.
j. Partner and work closely with the SCS financial business partner and contracts team to assure timely, complete, and accurate invoicing, new customer pricing proposals, updates to service pricing, and contract profitability.
k. Lead the creation and management of the department budget and understand any budget variances and how to manage the budget for the department.
l. Maintain accurate inventory systems, records, and controls.
2. Disability Inclusive Management- - Manage the supervisory team to support the hiring, training, and daily coordination of employees, many of whom are disabled.
b. Ensure professional development, performance management, and training of supervisors, team leads, trainers, and direct labor employees.
c. Conduct regular meetings with leadership and support team meetings as needed.
- Monitor assigned employees' progress in training and development, supporting supervisors and Team Leads, and others where appropriate. Look for opportunities to enhance training on disability inclusion.
e. Collaboratively and independently foster a supportive and inclusive culture aligned with Relay Resources values.
f. Act as a support and mentor for direct reports and all staff generally, modeling Relay Resources values and behavior expectations.
g. Ensure disability inclusion is an aspect of operations and culture including providing appropriate reasonable accommodations, maintaining necessary ratios and hiring with a disability lens.
h. Ensure employees under direct supervision are appropriately provided the tools and structures, including physical workspace and other disability inclusion needs which may include but are not limited to:
a. ASL or other interpretation services and/or devices,
b. Technology or other non-physical accommodating tools,
c. And coordinate with the department manager and the Disability Inclusion department as needed for staff to perform the essential duties of the job.
i. Build and maintain positive working relationships with the Disability Inclusion team to support collaborative approaches to reasonable accommodations for employees.
j. Maintain awareness of direct reports' accommodations to ensure daily and ongoing support as appropriate.
3. Customer Account Management and Growth - a. Maintain customer contacts and strong working relationships with customers.
b. Develop strong working relationships with the contracts team to identify revenue optimization strategies.
c. Serve as the subject matter expert with potential customers, and advise on bids, proposals, and revisions to existing contracts and/or projects.
d. Drive the process of customer onboarding from sourcing to signed contract to implementation for Supply Chain Solutions.
e. Collaborate with Sales, the Contracts Team, and IT on developing scope of service proposals for new business opportunities and suggest revisions to existing contracts to ensure compliance and sustainable margin growth practices.
4. Communication - a. Communicate effectively with the General manager, Supply Chain Solutions management team, and direct reports as appropriate. Provide updates and reports to various parts of the organization.
5. Ongoing Improvementa. Note any additional responsibilities expected to be fulfilled as needed.
b. Perform all duties in a timely manner, consistent with department and Relay processes and with flexibility to meet urgent or important needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSo 10+ years' management and leadership experience in customer service, production, warehousing, logistics, or related.
o Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
o Detail oriented, analytical and able to manage multiple competing priorities with professionalism.
o Exceptional communication skills including verbal, written, listening, and presenting.
o Experience successfully interacting with and communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders, including disabled people with both visible and non-apparent disabilities
o Reliable transportation and ability to travel in the field as needed to customer or potential customer sites.
o Ability to maintain confidentiality in spaces and as appropriate to the role including proprietary information, staff personal information, and other confidential information.
o Ability to pass criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting at any time during employment.
o Ability to prioritize, work independently with accountability to the team and leadership for all areas of responsibility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSo Master's degree in business, logistics, or related field, or equivalent additional experience directly related to this role.
o ISO9000 experience in administration and production environments.
o Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including people who do not speak English fluently and disabled people.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESo Knowledge of third party logistics software.
