What You'll Do

As the Supply Chain & Purchasing Manager, you'll provide strategic leadership for purchasing and supply chain operations while ensuring materials are available to support production and long-term business objectives.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute purchasing and supply chain strategies that support the operational objectives of Sacoma Specialty Products and Rapid Prototyping & Engineering.
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to achieve quality, delivery, service, and cost objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance, reduce costs, and strengthen the overall supply chain through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the Purchasing Specialist while ensuring efficient day-to-day purchasing operations.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance to ensure timely material availability and support production schedules.
  • Monitor supplier performance, inventory levels, and market conditions while proactively identifying supply chain risks and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including supplier quality, on-time delivery, inventory turns, purchase price variance, and cost savings.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance purchasing processes, improve supplier performance, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices that support operational excellence.
  • Prepare purchasing and supply chain reports and provide recommendations to the Director of Operations.
  • Build strong working relationships across both Sacoma Specialty Products and Rapid Prototyping & Engineering while supporting company objectives and demonstrating our Core Values.


Requirements

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings both strategic thinking and hands-on manufacturing supply chain experience.

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience will be considered).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing purchasing, inventory management, production planning, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP system experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Occasional travel between Sacoma Specialty Products and Rapid Prototyping & Engineering as business needs require.
