Full Job Description
supply chain optimization lead - Sourcing Operations

Build the systems, insights, and capabilities that power the future of our supply chain. This role sits at the intersection of sourcing, supply chain strategy, planning, technology, and analytics. Play a critical role in shaping how our sourcing organization operates, designing scalable solutions, and delivering predictive and proactive insights that enable better, faster decisions across the business. You'll partner closely with sourcing, planning, technology teams, and cross functional stakeholders to deliver spend analytics and market insights and translate business needs into effective system capabilities. From driving adoption of tools to building forward looking reporting and alerts, your work will directly influence how we anticipate demand, manage risk and complexity, and continuously improve how we operate. This is a rare opportunity to move beyond "running the plan" and instead help design the systems, insights, and ways of working that define how planning happens. Your work will improve visibility, reduce friction, and enable smarter decisions-at scale.

As an optimization lead, you will...
  • Lead planning technology evolution by translating business needs into system capabilities, guiding implementations, driving adoption, and partnering with technology teams to ensure tools enable planners effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization by identifying enhancement opportunities, delivering prioritized initiatives, and strengthening consistent sourcing processes and best practices across teams.
  • Advance reporting and insights by building sustainable KPI frameworks, proactive alerts, and trusted analytics that improve visibility, decision making, and sourcing/supply chain performance.

We'd love to hear from people with:
  • Advanced Excel - complex formulas, Power Query, pivot tables, data validation, scenario modeling
  • SQL - ability to write and interpret queries to extract, validate, and analyze data from large datasets
  • Sourcing and Supply Chain Systems - hands on experience with enterprise planning tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle, o9, APO, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, or similar)
  • Reporting & BI Tools - experience designing and maintaining dashboards and reports (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
  • Data Analysis & Quality Management - identifying data issues, root causes, and working with partners to improve data integrity
  • 4 year college degree.

As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. Partners have access to short-term and long-term disability, paid parental leave, family expansion reimbursement, paid vacation from date of hire*, sick time (accrued at 1 hour for every 25 hours worked), eight paid holidays, and two personal days per year. Starbucks also offers eligible partners participation in a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, a discounted company stock program (S.I.P.), Starbucks equity program (Bean Stock), incentivized emergency savings, and financial well-being tools. Additionally, Starbucks offers 100% upfront tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor's degree through Arizona State University's online program via the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, student loan management resources, and access to other educational opportunities. You will also have access to backup care and DACA reimbursement. Starbucks will comply with any applicable state and local laws regarding employee leave benefits, including, but not limited to providing time off pursuant to the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, and in accordance with its plans and policies. This list is subject to change depending on collective bargaining in locations where partners have a certified bargaining representative. For additional information regarding partner perks and more detailed information about benefits, go to starbucksbenefits.com.
*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

We believe we do our best work when we're together, which is why we're onsite four days a week.

We are hiring for direct and indirect sourcing teams, that will support our North America operations. This reflects our long-term commitment to innovation, opportunity, and shared success.
These roles will be based in Nashville, Tennessee, where we plan to expand our presence with the opening of a new Starbucks office later this year. We look forward to establishing strong roots in this growing city and contributing meaningfully to the local community.
