This position is critical to success and will be responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of supply chain operations, including demand planning, production planning, inventory management, materials management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure customer requirements are met while achieving operational and financial objectives. This role will drive supply chain performance through continuous improvement initiatives, data-driven decision making, and effective resource planning.
Details of the Role: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of supply chain operations, including production planning, inventory management, procurement coordination, logistics, and supplier performance. This position ensures the efficient flow of materials from suppliers through manufacturing operations to support customer requirements while meeting organizational goals related to cost, quality, delivery, and inventory management.
The ideal candidate for this position should be a results-oriented supply chain professional with deep experience in manufacturing environments, strong knowledge of S&OP processes, inventory optimization, capacity planning, and forecasting methodologies. This individual should be comfortable leading teams, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, utilizing data analytics to drive decisions, and implementing process improvements that reduce costs, improve customer service levels, and support business growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Develop and execute supply chain strategies that support organizational objectives and customer requirements.
- Lead production planning and inventory management activities to ensure material availability and optimize inventory levels.
- Manage demand forecasting, sales and operations planning (S&OP), and capacity planning processes.
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
- Monitor and improve key supply chain metrics, including inventory turns, on-time delivery, forecast accuracy, lead times, and material availability.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Analyze supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure business continuity.
- Lead inventory control programs and conduct regular reviews of excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
- Drive improvements in ERP data integrity, planning parameters, and supply chain processes.
- Develop reports and dashboards to communicate supply chain performance to management.
- Manage and develop supply chain personnel, including planners, buyers, inventory analysts, and logistics staff as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifying Attributes and Skills- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, production planning, forecasting, logistics, and procurement processes.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Private Equity experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally move materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel as needed to suppliers, customers, or other company locations as required.
