Description

The Supply Chain Manager, Drilling & Completions will report to senior supply chain leadership and own the sourcing, contracting, and supplier management strategy across Fervo's most complex and high-value spend categories. This role is both a team leadership position and a hands-on commercial one, requiring deep category expertise, strong negotiation skills, and the organizational ability to build scalable supply chain practices in a fast-growing environment.

The Supply Chain Manager, Drilling & Completions will lead the supply chain organization supporting Fervo's drilling and completions teams, with ownership across rigs, directional drilling, OCTG, completions services, and related indirect spend. This role is responsible for building and developing a high-performing team of category managers, supply chain specialists, and analysts while setting the strategy for sourcing, category management, supplier performance, and contract execution across the full drilling and completions portfolio.

Success in this position means ensuring that Fervo's field execution programs are supported by reliable supply chains, commercially sound contracts, and supplier relationships built for long-term performance. The Supply Chain Manager will be expected to drive measurable cost savings and risk reduction while building the processes and team capability needed to support a rapidly scaling drilling program.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

Team Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of category managers, supply chain specialists, and analysts supporting drilling, completions, rigs, OCTG, and indirect categories, providing clear direction, priorities, and accountability across the team.
  • Build team capability in should-cost modeling, total cost of ownership analysis, market intelligence, contract strategy, and supplier performance management while establishing scalable processes, tools, and governance models that support a growing drilling and completions program.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, and commercial discipline, and develop the organizational structure and talent pipeline needed to support current operations and future growth.

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
  • Own the supply chain strategy for drilling and completions categories including rigs, directional drilling, drilling fluids, cementing, drill bits, OCTG, wellheads, pressure control equipment, stimulation services, proppant, wireline, coiled tubing, and related services.
  • Lead the development and review of should-cost models using supplier cost drivers, market benchmarks, operational assumptions, public indices, historical spend, and field performance data to drive cost savings, cost avoidance, and supply assurance.
  • Partner with drilling and completions leaders to translate operating plans, rig schedules, frac schedules, and well designs into sourcing priorities, supplier strategies, and demand forecasts.

Contract Strategy & Negotiation
  • Develop and negotiate contract structures that support cost control, operational reliability, and long-term value creation, including performance-based pricing, index-based pricing, volume commitments, incentive and penalty structures, and risk-sharing mechanisms.
  • Partner with legal, finance, drilling, and completions teams to negotiate clear scopes of work, pricing structures, KPIs, warranty obligations, change management processes, and dispute resolution terms.
  • Drive standardization of contract frameworks across the portfolio while leading escalation and resolution of commercial disputes, supplier claims, and contract compliance issues.

Supplier Relationship & Performance Management
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships across critical drilling and completions categories, overseeing scorecards, QBRs, KPI tracking, and corrective actions across cost, quality, safety, and delivery dimensions.
  • Partner with drilling and completions stakeholders to validate supplier technical performance and identify opportunities to reduce NPT, improve stage efficiency, and lower total cost.
  • Identify strategic suppliers and develop relationship models that support innovation, performance improvement, and long-term scalability while proactively managing risks related to supplier capacity, long-lead materials, and market volatility.

Analytics, Governance & Operational Support
  • Partner with drilling and completions leadership to forecast demand, align sourcing priorities with field execution plans, and support materials readiness for OCTG, chemicals, proppant, and critical services.
  • Use spend analytics, supplier data, market intelligence, and cost models to guide sourcing decisions, partnering with analysts to develop dashboards, bid evaluation templates, scorecards, and executive-level reporting.
  • Track and report value creation including cost savings, cost avoidance, risk reduction, and supplier performance improvement while continuously identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve cycle times, and build scalable supply chain practices.
