We're seeking a
Supply Chain Manager to lead all supply chain activities for our Airport Products Division in Fond du Lac - production planning, purchasing, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and material handling. As the facility's primary supply chain leader, you'll ensure materials and services are available to support production, new product launches, and business growth, while supervising Purchasing and Logistics staff and partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Finance, and Corporate Supply Chain.
What You'll Do- Lead the team: Coach and manage Purchasing and Logistics staff; set priorities, objectives, and KPIs aligned with business goals; build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Plan & manage inventory: Coordinate production planning to ensure material availability; monitor inventory levels and develop replenishment strategies that support production while minimizing working capital; analyze demand trends to optimize inventory investment and turns.
- Own purchasing & procurement: Manage sourcing for direct and indirect materials; build supplier relationships around quality, cost, delivery, and service; negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements; drive cost reduction and manage supplier risk; support sourcing for new product launches and engineering changes.
- Oversee logistics & material handling: Manage inbound/outbound logistics, receiving, storage, and shipping; improve warehouse organization, material flow, and inventory accuracy; coordinate freight and transportation providers.
- Drive continuous improvement: Support Lean initiatives facility-wide; track KPIs including supplier on-time delivery, inventory accuracy and turns, material availability, freight cost, supplier quality, and on-time shipment performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Align priorities with Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, and Finance; support new product launches and capacity/sourcing planning; contribute to corporate supply chain initiatives.
- Maintain compliance: Ensure adherence to company policy, safety standards, and regulations; maintain accurate data and system integrity in ERP/MRP systems.
What You Bring- Strong knowledge of purchasing, procurement, supplier management, inventory control, and logistics; working knowledge of production planning and manufacturing scheduling.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems; knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Ability to prioritize, adapt, and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment, including purchasing, supplier management, logistics, and inventory management.
- Prior leadership experience with direct reports; experience supporting new product introductions and production ramp-ups.
- ERP/MRP experience (JD Edwards a plus); APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in heavy equipment, industrial equipment, automotive, agricultural, or similar manufacturing industries preferred.
