Job Summary
The Director, Supply Chain Planning Strategy and Excellence is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision for the Spectrum Brands global supply chain planning organization (over $1.7B in revenue). This role serves as a senior leader within the global supply chain organization and is accountable for Planning Strategy & Maturity, Technology Roadmap and Implementation, Performance Excellence, Capability Building and Change Management.

This position leads and develops a high-performing team, including two Senior Managers who are responsible for process implementation, continuous improvement, and planning systems enablement. The Director will establish the vision and multi-year roadmap for supply chain planning maturity, driving standardization of people (roles and capabilities), processes, and technology including strategy implementation and adoption of AI capabilities across all business units.

The scope of this role includes ownership of global end-to-end supply chain planning, including S&OP/IBP, from a process design, policy, governance, and compliance perspective. The Director will act as a key integrator between business unit planning teams, supply chain leadership, and central IT, ensuring alignment, consistency, and measurable performance improvements.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and implement best-in-class, end-to-end planning processes (Demand, Supply, IBP) and improve planning maturity across the organization.
  • Lead the deployment of advanced planning tools, analytics, and process standardization, often focusing on AI/predictive enhancements with SAP IBP or other best in class planning tools.
  • Collaborate with BU planning leadership through formal forums and operating rhythms to align on business priorities, performance, challenges, risks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish global planning standards, policies, governance models, and performance metrics to drive consistency, transparency, and accountability across business units.
  • Partner closely with BU Planning Leaders to ensure effective execution of the S&OP cycle, including governance of stage gates, decision tracking, ownership, actions, and consensus capture.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior supply chain and business leaders, providing insight-driven recommendations to improve decision quality and speed to action.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Managers/Sr. Managers focused on:
    • Global process design, implementation, and continuous improvement
    • Planning systems and advanced supply chain capabilities
  • Build organizational capability by clarifying roles, strengthening technical and functional skills, and fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Alignment with STO/PM on standard and process improvement rollouts and/or change management activities.
  • Collaborate and partner with the BU Planning Leader on the S&OP cycle and stage gates. Support the key areas of tracking decisions, capturing owners and actions and capture consensus.
  • Create an inclusive, high-engagement environment that promotes challenge, partnership, and results while maintaining a positive and rewarding team culture.

Leadership Competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to influence people and teams at all levels in a matrixed organization without direct authority on the roadmap for supply chain excellence.
  • Collaborate and partner within supply chain team to adopt and implement best practices and standards. Ensure there is strong feedback from the business focused teams on current situations and challenges to guide and mitigate risks/issues.
  • Lead with a sense of urgency for action, focus on standardization, and take accountability for creating and immediate and sustainable impact to the organization.
  • Self-driven leader with a focus on continuous improvement and tenacious appetite for education.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization on complex topics to expedite action.

Education and Experience Profile
  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is desired.
  • 10+ years of experience leading End-to-End supply chain planning processes (i.e., demand/forecasting, supply/inventory planning, S&OP rollout/management) in a global /companywide leadership scale.
  • Proven experience driving supply chain improvements through the use of AI and or other advanced technologies.
  • Experience in a consumer product goods and/or food/beverage/chemical organization is preferred.
  • Prior SAP experience in IBP/APO/SNP/PPDS environments is highly preferred.
  • Leading process excellence initiatives globally with focus on improving decision making, speed to action and strong focus on S&OP.
  • Prior experience within a COE (Center of Excellence) area is highly desired.

Work Environment
The position is preferred to be in the Earth City, MO or Madison, WI offices. Remote role is eligible. The base salary range for this position is $168,000 - $210,000. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This role is also eligible for bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and other company-sponsored programs.
