Full Job Description
Basic Function:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Supply Chain Business Analyst to support the continuous improvement of TRIUMF's supply chain operations. This role is responsible for analyzing complex operational and financial data, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and risks, and developing actionable recommendations that improve performance across procurement, logistics, inventory management, and sustainability initiatives.

Working closely with Supply Chain, Finance, and Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) teams, the incumbent will drive data-informed decision-making, optimize business processes, enhance system capabilities, and support strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.

Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Analysis & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supply chain ESG initiatives.
  • Document current and future-state processes through process mapping, gap analysis, and workflow assessments.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, cost drivers, and process inefficiencies; develop data-backed recommendations to improve performance.
  • Monitor and analyze supplier performance, Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Plan-to-Deliver (P2D) KPIs, processing cycle times, and service-level performance.
  • Lead and facilitate Supply Chain and Finance business process improvement meetings.


Systems & Technology Optimization
  • Lead the optimization and continuous enhancement of ERP system: Workday and support the implementation of supply chain systems.
  • Maintain and enhance business productivity tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, and related Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications for process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements.


Reporting & Business Intelligence
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, scorecards, reports, and KPIs using Power BI, Excel, Workday reporting tools, and other analytics platforms.
  • Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and effective visualization of key performance metrics.
  • Provide analytical insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.


Strategic Support
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis on supplier markets, pricing trends, industry benchmarks, and emerging supply chain risks.
  • Support business case development for process improvements, technology investments, sourcing initiatives, and vendor selection.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and operational excellence.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives that support organizational goals and operational excellence objectives.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Advanced expertise in Workday reporting, dashboard development, analytics, and data management.
  • Strong experience creating and managing dashboards, scorecards, and KPIs using Power BI, Excel, and other reporting tools.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent business acumen with the ability to connect operational activities to strategic objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders in a complex organization.
  • Project management and change management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work through ambiguity, and adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning and continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented, with a strong focus on delivering business value and operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of sustainable procurement, ESG reporting, and responsible sourcing practices is an asset.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in supply chain business analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
  • Direct experience with Workday is required.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, and logistics operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in business process analysis, KPI development, and supply chain reporting.


Preferred Professional Qualifications:
  • Master's degree (e.g., MBA).
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Supply chain designations such as CSCP, SCMP, or equivalent professional certifications.


Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
