supplier relations lead - Sourcing Operations

This job contributes to Starbucks success through strategically leading complex and critical supplier relationship management program as a subject matter expert. Leads supplier contracting and onboarding activities in compliance with company policies. Sustains a complex suite of service expectations, conducts supplier rationalization, spend, span and performance analysis. Develops key relationships and implements programs to support supplier performance excellence that meet strategic business needs. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles

As a vendor relations lead, you will...
  • Document and lead the development of complex supplier lifecycle processes such as qualifications, contracting and onboarding.
  • Lead the review, qualification, contracting, and onboarding milestones for complex, key supplier requests received from regional partners.
  • Support interpretation of complex contractual expectations and service descriptions between Starbucks and key service providers.
  • Develop and sustain strong relationships at every level of the organization with partners/stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements & delivery of business unit priorities.
  • Consult with Sourcing and Legal for additional support as needed.
  • Serve as the lead for service expectations with key suppliers
  • Determine methods and data necessary to analyze complex key supplier performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor performance analysis for outliers and supports process that enables regional teams to facilitate change.
  • Identify opportunities and create strategy to improve key supplier performance.
  • Determine methods and data necessary to analyze and complete data administration to maintain complex key supplier core data in enterprise systems.
  • Lead the development and implementation of programs that identify specific enhancements to the key supplier portfolio, resulting in quantifiable performance improvements and quantifiable cost savings.
  • Communicate opportunities and solutions to all levels of the organization in a clear and concise way. Lead complex issue resolution by leveraging subject matter expert knowledge, peers, and internal and external experts.
  • Visualize complex data in a compelling way to tell a story and explain trends.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise within multiple fields of focus and global public policy and government affairs generally, actively seeking insights, emerging trends and innovations.
  • Proactively interpret, share, and apply insights to enhance current strategies and stakeholder engagement, policy initiatives and projects identifying opportunities to drive impact, influence and create value
  • Lead strategies and stakeholder engagement, policy initiatives and projects with available information, expertise of the policy and legislative landscape, asks clarifying questions, anticipates future needs, and responds with urgency when needed.
  • Execute and manage compliance to sourcing policies
  • Create clarity for team, cross- functional team members and leaders by proactively sharing progress, sharing policy and legislative analysis, and proposing recommendations to address ambiguity Manages a system of accountability for team to integrate and advance enterprise and sourcing policies and global responsibility goals and strategies.
  • Support enterprise planning efforts including strategic and financial planning.
  • Manage portfolio approach for impact and stakeholder engagement tracking and communication, engages team proactively, and identifies opportunities and connect the dots across programs and functions.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
