Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Supplier Quality department's operations
  • Execute Supplier Quality Assurance activities per AS9100 and customer requirements
  • Identify root causes of supplier non-conformances and implement corrective actions
  • Lead supplier approval and incoming Material Review Board activities
  • Analyze supplier quality data and drive improvements in the supply chain
  • Oversee supplier corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives
  • Promote continuous improvement and support Lean initiatives at supplier sites
  • Evaluate the performance of Supplier Quality personnel and provide guidance
  • Set departmental goals and Key Performance Indicators aligned with company priorities
  • Mentor and supervise Supplier Quality Engineers and Auditors

Job Description

The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for managing the SEAKR Supplier Quality organization which ensures that all external suppliers and contract manufacturers meet SEAKR's rigorous quality standards. The Manager is also responsible for management, supervision, and mentoring of the Supplier Quality Engineers. This is a full-time exempt position in which the work is performed under limited supervision by the Director, Quality Assurance and is evaluated on results obtained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overall responsibility for the Supplier Quality department.
  • Execute Supplier Quality Assurance activities in accordance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier non-conformances to identify root cause(s) and corrective/preventive action(s).
  • Lead Supplier approval activities and incoming Material Review Board activities.
  • Analyze supplier quality data and identify areas for improvement across the supply chain.
  • Lead supplier corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the supplier base and support Lean initiatives at vendor facilities.
  • Review and evaluate Supplier Quality personnel performance.
  • Establish department goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) based on company priorities and needs.
  • Supervise, train, and develop Supplier Quality Engineers and Auditors.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in Supplier Quality including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Detailed knowledge of high reliability / aerospace workmanship and manufacturing are required.
  • Knowledge of company's operations as they relate to ensuring customer quality expectations and requirements are met through the supply chain.
  • Knowledge of a variety of software applications including MS Word, MS Excel and general E-Mail concepts.
  • Ability to successfully operate as part of a multi-functional team, including procurement, program management, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to work with various supplier representatives on quality issues and investigations.
  • Ability to review supplier engineering documentation to ensure company and customer quality requirements are being met.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience inspecting electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620. Active certification to these standards is desired.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic assembly manufacturing and inspection processes involving complex surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole assemblies at supplier sites.
  • Familiarity with ESD and FOD controls, soldering processes, AOI/X-ray inspection, and test procedures within the supply chain.
  • Experience in managing contract manufacturers and testing of complex spacecraft systems.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits to quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001) by internal and 3rd party organizations.


Additional Information

Compensation: Base salary range is $145,000-180,000, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
