  • Drive supplier corrective and preventive actions (SCAR/CAPA) and ensure timely closure
  • Lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and prioritize activities to support production
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve supplier-related quality issues
  • Participate in material review board (MRB) activities for supplier nonconformances

Full Job Description
As a Supplier Quality Engineering Team Lead, you will play a key role in Kardium's manufacturing scale up by leading supplier quality activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and company expectations. You will lead the investigation and resolution of supplier quality issues, enhance incoming inspection program, analyze supplier quality data, and implement improvement initiatives to reduce defects and variability. Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC. Your responsibilities will include: • Proactively lead supplier quality engineering activities for raw materials, components, and contract manufacturers. • Partner with key suppliers to establish robust quality plans to ensure high-yield commercial scaling. • Conduct supplier audits and assessments in accordance with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, and company requirements. • Analyze supplier quality data, identify trends and implement improvement initiatives to reduce defects and variability. • Drive supplier corrective and preventive actions (SCAR/CAPA) and ensure timely closure. • Lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, building capabilities and prioritizing team activities to support production schedules and quality objectives. • Collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations to mitigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues. • Participate in material review board (MRB) activities related to supplier nonconformances. What you bring to the team You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes: • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, mechanical or manufacturing engineering (or equivalent). • 7+ years of supplier quality engineering experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated industry. • 3+ years of leadership or team lead experience. • Proven track record in supplier development including conducting supplier audits and managing supplier corrective actions. • Proficiency in root cause analysis and statistical/problem-solving tools. • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. • Domestic and international travel to supplier sites may be required (up to 25%) Compensation Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% Retirement Savings Plan contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted. As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium's stock option plan. • $102,000 - $136,000 (CAD Annually) Your Benefits & Well-being The total cash we've listed for this position includes a base salary, plus an annual contribution to a Retirement Savings Plan account to help support your financial goals.
