Supplier Quality Engineer | Charlotte, MI

What you'll do: Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a professionalrelationship between the company and the quality department for each supplier.The SQE will be the lead contact concerning supplier component quality and willbe responsible for obtaining complete problem resolution. In addition, the SQEposition will be responsible for monitoring supplier quality performance (PPM)and actively work with the supplier on corrective actions to obtain stateddepartmental goals.
JOBRESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide the liaison function between the company and the supplier's qualitygroup.
• Request supplier involvement with potential quality concerns.
• Develop and maintain supplier corrective action tracking system.
• Develop and maintain PPAP tracking system.
• Document supplier quality processes.
• Responsible for all layout activities.
• Request supplier corrective action for all identified quality issues wheresupplier action is necessary; within 24 hours of occurrence.
• Verify the supplier understands basic expectations such as 24-hour response,containment, and financial responsibility for supplier related quality issues.
• Responsible for all suppliers charge back activity including labor andauxiliary expenses.
• Monitor and track to completion of overall supplier recovery charges. This willinclude working with accounting.
• Responsible for maintaining the return material cage
• Lead and assist the Quality Technicians with review and approval of supplierPPAP package.
• Contact the supplier to request a PPAP submission.
• Attend, participate, and lead the quality portion of the Senior Executive Teamprocess.
• Participate in the evaluation of potential supplier quality concerns with otherdepartments.
• Lead internal supplier containment
• Assist QE in external supplier containment
• Provide direction and leadership to the supplier quality technicians.
• Provide the necessary supplier PPM data for KPI tracking and accompanyingcorrective action if required (trend, pareto, control charts, PSR).
• Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areasand taking corrective
action.
Ensures manufacturing BOM is aligned with current revision level of parts required for chassis build.
• Performs all other duties and or meetings as assigned by the Quality Manager.
What you need to be successful: - Bachelor'sdegree in engineering, science, logistics or related field required
- Provenexperience in manufacturing and in securing vendor contracts
- Proven leadership and business skills
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
