Description

Overall Purpose:

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for working with suppliers, engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain to select qualified suppliers and enhance supplier performance and capability ensuring a positive impact on quality on both new and existing products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and suppliers to manage, monitor and improve supplier performance both on time delivery and quality.
  • Research, identify, and cultivate new vendors (machine shops, processors, etc.)
  • Manage suppliers' non-conformances products until they are resolved in order to prevent production impacts
  • Be the subject matter expert in the supplier product knowledge, capability, and capacity
  • Conduct and lead onsite visits to assess capacity, capability, and promote best practices
  • Understanding of Receiving Inspection processes, component measuring techniques, and drawing specifications
  • Promote and identify areas of improvement among suppliers and ensure their implementation
  • Identify and facilitate training and knowledge transfer to suppliers to improve quality, processes and overall performance
  • Analyze supplier performance metrics and implement improvement plans aligned with organization requirements
  • Generate and report monthly supplier metrics and quarterly scorecards
  • Provides data analysis to management based on data trends and supplier performance
  • Act as a technical resource on supplier product requirements, manufacturing processes and quality standards
  • Daily interaction with various departments to identify and resolve supplier quality challenges
  • Ability to work with suppliers to improve their performance
  • Able to provide and support ideas for improving the supplier management process

Other Duties:
  • Provides support for project completion or other duties based on the needs of the department

Position Requirements

Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality or related field
  • At least 5 years of related experience
  • Knowledge on manufacturing, varied processes, and inspection methods
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, including GD&T, schematics and technical specifications
  • Strong problem solving skills and decision making abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)

Work Environment: Warehouse and office setting

Must be a U.S. Person based on ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident). This position is expected to be exposed to information which is subject to U.S. export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
