Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer
to join our Procurement department based in Mobile, AL.
You will be part of a team serving as a critical bridge between our production lines and global supply base, specifically focusing on multi-site collaboration between Canada and the USA.
Your Challenges:
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, your mission is to protect operations through rigorous technical analysis and proactive supplier management:
Multi-Site Collaboration: Act as the primary quality liaison and "Airbus representative" facilitating seamless communication between sites in the USA and Canada.
Root Cause Analysis & Supplier Negotiation: Conduct in-depth technical assessments of NCRs and design specifications to identify failure origins; act as the primary point of contact in direct negotiations with suppliers to adjudicate liability and define corrective action ownership following technical investigations.
Supplier Corrective Actions: Lead investigations with suppliers to define and implement robust corrective actions based on your findings.
Production Interface: Serve as the direct point of contact between the production floor and suppliers to resolve real-time quality roadblocks and participate in the go and see on the production line.
MRB & VRNC Management: Lead the MRB (Material Review Board) validation process for supplier VRNCs, ensuring technical compliance and robust dispositioning to maintain quality standards.
FAI Validation: Manage and validate First Article Inspections (FAI) with suppliers to ensure all components meet stringent aerospace standards before entering the production line.
Risk Mitigation: Investigate and identify future quality risks, synthesizing complex data for presentation to various management levels.

Experience:
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality or manufacturing engineering.
Technical Expertise: Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings (DWG) and a deep understanding of aerospace standards and regulations such as AS9100, TCCA, FAA, and EASA.
Problem Solving: Advanced experience in problem-solving methodologies and the ability to document information with high synthesis.
Soft Skills: You are autonomous, and possess the leadership skills required to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
Flexibility: You are prepared for worldwide business travel (up to 10%) and are flexible to coordinate with suppliers across different time zones.
Nature of Contacts:
On a daily basis, the job holder will interact with several FAL functions both in the US, Europe and Canada as well as Airbus industrial partners.
Physical Requirements:
Able to carry and lift documents, tools, drawings and electronic equipment up to 30lbs. Able to push/pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on a computer. Able to walk inside and outside buildings. Able to use stairs and go inside the ACs
