Full Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day

In this role, you will manage the supplier qualification of machining processes for gas turbine components, ensuring adherence to quality, deadlines, and cost parameters. You will provide technical support to suppliers and be jointly responsible for the qualifications of their processes. Additionally, you will oversee the development and industrialization of new production processes, acting as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries and quality issues from both suppliers and internal partners. Serving as the technical interface between design/engineering and manufacturing, you will analyze data to identify improvement potentials and initiate enhancements with our suppliers. As you gain experience, you will have the opportunity to engage in larger projects, further expanding your impact within the organization.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Contribute to decarbonization efforts by enhancing the efficiency of gas turbine components, aligning with global sustainability goals.
  • Manage product and process qualifications (PPQ) and oversee the production of hot gas components at assigned suppliers, providing valuable manufacturability feedback to design teams while evaluating manufacturing and delivery risks.
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects by tracking milestones and budgets, coordinating activities, and proactively mitigating risks and delays to ensure timely project completion.
  • Utilize statistical data to improve supplier processes, focusing on reducing non-conformance costs and enhancing overall quality and efficiency.
  • Spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing costs and delivery times at machining suppliers, fostering stronger partnerships and optimizing supply chain performance.
  • Contribute to the technology roadmap and conduct feasibility studies for new designs and machining technologies, ensuring alignment with industry advancements and operational capabilities.
What You Bring
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, materials science, manufacturing, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of technical experience in machining processes, including grinding, milling, EDM (sinking and FHEDM), and STEM drilling.
  • Proven experience in project management, demonstrating the ability to lead and coordinate complex projects effectively.
  • Background in working with cross-functional teams, particularly in the context of turbine hot gas parts, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Strong intercultural competence with a willingness to travel internationally (~25%), enhancing global collaboration and supplier engagement.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written, ensuring clear communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.
