- Develops Command-wide plans, programs, and policies for all core security disciplines (Information, Physical, Industrial, Operations, and Personnel), as well as Multi-hazard Preparedness Response (MHPR) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Oversees the management of the security incident program, evaluates actions and makes recommendations to resolve allegations concerning security activities, coordinating with the appropriate command leaders.
- Advises, and assists Command managers and top-level officials on interpretation and implementation of policy and provides information on new developments and advances in security processes, methods, and application.
- Serves as program manager/technical authority for the agency on the development, implementation and conduct of highly classified, sensitive security programs.
- Performs administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff members supervised.
- Plans and carries out studies and projects that result in the issuance of Command-wide security policy.

- In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
- This position requires a Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- This is a drug test designated position.
QualificationsIn order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Managing security related programs or projects in an Information Technology environment to ensure security requirements are met and adhere to standards and regulations. or Experience implementing security concepts, principles, and practices in programs of such as personnel security, physical security, information security, industrial security, and operations security.Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
EducationThere is no substitution of education for thequalifying experience at the GG-14 grade level.Additional information- This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.

- This position has been identified as a Defense Security Position (DSP) in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) Manual 3305.13-M, "DoD Security Accreditation and Certification" and selectees will be required to meet the certification requirements of the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) program. As such, the individual selected for this position must obtain and/or maintain a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC). Upon appointment to this position selectees will have two years to meet the applicable SPeD certification requirements and will be required to sign a statement acknowledging the SFPC requirements and agreeing to permit the DoD to access and monitor the certification qualifications associated with this position. - PPP Application Based Preference Eligibles (Military Reserve and National Guard technicians, Military Reserve and National Guard technicians receiving disability retirement, and Retained Grade employees) will receive priority consideration at the full performance level only.
