The primary purpose of this position is shaping DHS-wide audit liaison policy, influencing national security, and supporting executive-level decision-making.

As a Supervisory Program Analyst, GS-0343-15, your typical work assignments may include:

• Serves as a principal advisor and subject matter expert on audit liaison policy and strategy, providing authoritative guidance and oversight for all DHS Components and management officials.
• Ensures staff are properly trained and that position descriptions accurately reflect assigned duties.
• Leads and coordinates multi-component initiatives to shape and advance audit liaison policy, ensuring alignment with national security priorities and executive leadership objectives.
• Represents the DAL Division and DHS in interagency forums, working groups, and meetings with the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Office of Inspector General(OIG), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Congress, and other federal agencies to advance DHS interests and ensure effective audit engagement and resolution.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:

You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: 1) Supervising subordinate staff, including assigning work, evaluating performance, providing guidance and supporting staff development and training; 2) Organizing, planning, directing, and coordinating the work of the DAL Division to ensure effective audit liaison operations across all DHS Components; 3) Reviewing and approving work products for quality and compliance with applicable policies and regulations; and 4) Providing recommendations and technical assistance to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other management officials regarding program plans, priorities, resource allocation, and organizational changes related to audit liaison functions.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
