14, your typical work assignments may include:
- Supervising and coordinates, through Supervisory Attorneys and/or Supervisory Labor Management Relations Examiners the investigation, analysis and initial resolution of all unfair labor practice charges and representation petitions filed in the Regional Office; assigning cases for investigation and analysis, taking into consideration the complexity of cases, priority handling required, workload of the group, and related factors; and ensuring that cases are processed expeditiously, that quality standards are uniformly maintained, and time targets are met or that there are valid reasons for any delays.
- Participating in the decision-making process of cases within the Regional Offices.
- Participating with the supervisor and individual Field Attorney or Labor Relations Investigators in conferences with parties to cases in the attempt to obtain voluntary settlement of issues, or to obtain withdrawal of charges or petitions; facilitating voluntary disposition due to expert knowledge of labor management relations within the Regional Office.
- Conferring with supervisors and individual Labor Relations Investigators and Field Attorneys on problems requiring assistance in resolving questions of fact, proof, jurisdiction, law or Board practice, procedure, or precedent, or in planning the investigation, processing, or disposition of difficult cases.

QualificationsAll qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENTThe ideal candidate for the Supervisory Labor Management Relations Examiner (Assistant Regional Director) position demonstrates knowledge of the NLRA as well as how the Agency investigates and ascertains merit in unfair labor practice charges and the handling of representation cases. The candidate also demonstrates competence in managing the administration of field office operations or demonstrates other comparable experience, including managing cases and providing input on personnel matters and discussions with represented Agency employees. The ideal candidate is detailed, and task orientated and a problem-solver who takes pride in personal performance while delivering results along the way and inspiring staff to do the same.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Supervisory Labor Management Relations Examiner (Assistant Regional Director) at the GS-14 grade level.
Specialized experience includes:
- Experience advising on labor-management relations and collective bargaining matters or concerns, or other comparable experience; and
- Experience assisting in addressing matters in the field of labor-management relations, or other comparable experience; and
- Experience assisting in conducting investigations or researching labor matters (e.g., economics, management relations matters for labor unions, newspapers, journals, foundations, commercial or industrial enterprises, or Federal, State, or municipal agencies).

One year of experience at the GS-13 or equivalent grade level of the federal service, is required to qualify for this position.
