Summary

Duties

Help

  • You will brief for senior managers on program execution and provide recommendations to correct program variances or problem areas.
  • You will serve as the senior liaison for budget, accounting, or financial management policy and procedures within the organization.
  • You will conduct management evaluation of issues of financial consequence raised in audit reports, budget reviews, etc. and recommend alternatives for corrective action.
  • You will plan work, set priorities and schedules work as necessary to assure effective and expeditious accomplishment of priority work without adverse effect on regular and recurring work.
  • You will direct and/or perform continuing program execution review, analysis and appraisal of the major operating and support programs within the organization.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level III certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military
    and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Isolating, defining and resolving critical problems, developing new theories concerning budget, accounting, financial management programs AND providing interpretive/analytical advice on financial transactions and program execution.
