The Opportunity

The Shift Supervisor will oversee a production shift with primary responsibility for reliable operations, adhering to safety requirements,maintainingquality standards, maximizingproductivityand managing ahigh-performanceteam. Accomplish this through the implementation and adherence to TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) standards.

What You'll Do

Health,Safety& EnvironmentalLeadership

  • Create a culture where the safety of our people and our environmentstewardshipare priorities over production
  • Actively engage and hold the team accountable to the SafeStart program
  • Actively participate and co-lead the crew safety meetings
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address safety concerns promptly
  • Evolve and mature the safety culture by actively participating in the safety conversation process
  • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are in place and being adhered


TPM Leadership

  • Create a culture where we embrace and implement TPM methodologies enabling our capability to achieve a world class OEE target of85% by the end of 2025
  • Enforce quality standards throughout the production process, identifying and resolving any quality issues promptly
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency and quality for the shift
  • Monitor and manage daily production activities
  • Identify and address production issues as they arise on shift
  • Support plant wide initiatives to drive OEE and waste improvement including Break Down Analysis (BDA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Clean Inspect and Lubricate (CIL), Focused Improvement (FI), One Point Lessons (OPL) and Standard Operating Practice (SOP) activities
  • Identify and resolve production issues, troubleshoot machine problems, and implement solutions
  • Support training activities to ensure effective implementation of OPLs across all production crews
  • Daily Clean and Inspect (CI) and Short Shut CI activities are complete and properly documented
  • Attend daily operations review (DOR) meetings, coordinate any relevant activities with other departments (stock preparation, paper machine, boiler, yard, ETP) and provide regular updates to the team
  • Activelyparticipatein the monthly review of site Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Metrics (OGSM) and contributeto the development of the annual plan


Team Leadership

  • Create a culture where our people want to come to work, enjoy working together, and share a sense of belonging
  • Lead and motivate the shift teams, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform audits on the CI (Clean and Inspect) process
  • Monitor compliance to mill rules and attendance guidelines - coach and when necessary, progressive discipline those who are non-compliant
  • Monitor team performance and reward accomplishments through celebrations and recognition (both individual and group)
  • Conduct routine individual performance reviews
  • Manage employee schedules and ensure adequate coverage for the shift
  • Train new team members on technical processes and procedures
  • Proactively identify potential risks and escalate concerns to appropriate management


Communication and Reporting

  • Transparent communication and reporting to keep everyone informed, aligned, and empowered to make better decision
  • Communicate effectively with other shift supervisors, managers and cross functional teams to ensure alignment and smooth handoff
  • Generate detailed shift reports highlighting key metrics, challenges encountered, and corrective action taken
  • Proactively identify potential risks and escalate concerns to appropriate management

Hiring Range : $115,000 - $143,700 per year. A candidate's experience and knowledge may be factored into the pay a candidate receives for this position. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
