Job Description:

The Role:

Entegris is seeking a driven and collaborative Quality Lab Supervisor to join the CMP Pads Manufacturing team at the Aurora, Illinois facility. In this role, you will be accountable for safe, compliant, and timely day-to-day laboratory execution for the shift by leading Quality Lab Technicians who perform visual inspection and testing for manufacturing, product development, engineering, and customer-failure analysis. Your role will ensure a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement while fostering an environment where teamwork, innovation, and accountability thrive. This 2nd Shift position is onsite, Monday through Friday, leading a team that operates 2:00pm to 10:00pm, with extended shift support and weekend oversight as business needs require.

What You'll Do

  • Model safe work practices and monitor quality areas to ensure cleanliness, housekeeping, and EHS procedures are followed; support plant safety and housekeeping initiatives as assigned


  • Provide clear communication regarding goals, expectations, and daily priorities; collaborate with other supervisors, engineering and management to ensure alignment and escalate risks


  • Train, certify, coach, and develop laboratory technicians; address performance issues with proper documentation and manage performance reviews and corrective actions in a timely manner


  • Provide day-to-day direction and respond to shift-level concerns, including safety incidents, quality issues, and personnel matters


  • Ensure test results, Certificates of Analysis, and Laboratory Information Management System records are complete, accurate, timely, and traceable


  • Ensure technicians recognize, contain, document, and escalate product, instrument, method, and quality-standard deviations or nonconformances in a timely manner


  • Support corrective action and nonconformance investigations, including containment, data collection, root-cause analysis, effectiveness checks, and documentation of results


  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma concepts, including Kanban, 6S, PDCA, and visual management, to improve resource planning, schedule attainment, workplace organization, and daily execution.


  • Prepare the laboratory for internal, customer, and external audits and ensure identified actions are completed


  • Identify and pursue opportunities for safety improvements, 6S, labor, cost reduction, waste elimination, improved material flow, and greater equipment and process efficiency.


What We Seek

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Quality, or another related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing quality laboratory experience


  • Typically 5 or more years of quality laboratory or manufacturing experience, including demonstrated experience leading a team


  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and quality principles with the ability to quickly gain competency in quality lab areas


  • Excellent organizational, planning and communication skills


  • Experience with Minitab, JMP or comparable statistical software is preferred


  • Hands-on knowledge of quality laboratory operations, test equipment, calibration, preventive maintenance, and data-integrity practices


  • Onsite presence in a manufacturing environment with use of required personal protective equipment.
