Job DescriptionThe Supervisor, Production Support, will provide leadership to a team of Planners (Production Control Technologists/Schedulers) within designated Stages of Construction (SoC). This role will drive operational schedules, monitor performance, and help resolve cross-trade production issues by collaborating with Engineering, Detail Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations Management.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.What you'll do- Provide leadership to team members, including mentorship, setting expectations, measuring performance, providing constructive feedback, documenting skill gaps, and identifying training requirements.
- Administer company policies, verify timesheets, and set annual goals.
- Hire and onboard new employees as needed.
- Ensure adherence to schedules, production plans, resource profiles, and build strategies.
- Coordinate with production leadership to maintain and align operational schedules with project requirements.
- Develop, document, and improve processes, standards, and workflows for the production support team.
- Complete and implement continuous improvement projects for the production support team.
- Support multiple trade value streams by proactively resolving production issues and facilitating coordination across value streams.
- Conduct regular communication meetings with team members to ensure alignment and address challenges.
- Represent the department in internal and external meetings.
- Oversee the accurate implementation, tracking, and collection of production data to support new construction projects.
- Foster collaboration and communication across teams to promote a culture of efficiency and teamwork.
What you'll bring- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or a technical field of study, or relevant Trades experience is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience in shipbuilding or manufacturing environment
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Extensive knowledge of shipbuilding operations, with an understanding of procurement, design, production, and testing processes.
- Proficiency with enterprise-level MRP and ERP systems as well as independent planning systems (Oracle/Microsoft Project).
- Knowledge of EVMS principles for monitoring, reporting, and controlling work activities.
- Strong technical skills, including the ability to read and interpret complex specifications and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
- Proven ability to direct work, delegate effectively, and lead a team in achieving goals.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
- Strong customer service focus and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, integrity, and adaptability to changing situations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent digital literacy, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to build an effective team and foster collaboration across diverse groups.
- Ability to schedule work to a sequence that supports the production methodology

The estimated salary for this position is $106,886 - $153,649 plus a shift premium for the afternoon shift. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
