JOB SUMMARY Provide internal customer service to various departments throughout MTA Metro-Noarth Railroad community. For example, we provide service to the maintenance planning team by providing information on the schedule due dates on a weekly basis to ensure our rolling stock fleet is inspected in accordance with all operating rules and guidelines. Work with the shop in monitoring the accuracy of the information recorded on the Defect and Repair records (MP-47) and work along with them in resolving it so the data can be entered into the business database for others to review and use as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Directly supervise Operations Support Technicians and Clerical Team. Record mechanical defects identified, repairs made, and schedule maintenance performed by shop and yard forces at multiple facilities into AMS.
- Provide required ad-hoc report generation via AMS/IMS to assist in the scheduling, planning, and troubleshooting of Shop Operations
- Provide Shop management for the M of E Department with Shop Status, Car Maintenance History, Failure Analysis, and other related information as requested by senior management.
- Coordinate Work Packets for each car shopped at the multiple facilities to ensure policy compliance for fleet records.
- Perform periodic audits in AMS and monitor Operations Support technician and clerical performance.
- Coordinate M of E activities in response to "In-service Defect" processing with all M of E facilities and equipment office.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESRequired:
- Demonstrated ability with computerized maintenance management systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency with automated data systems and various PC software, including Microsoft Office Suite, and/or comparable applications.
- Demonstrated proficiency to produce reports from established databases (e.g., Access, Excel). High Required Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, locations and shifts when required.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical/mechanical maintenance requirements. High Required Familiarity with Metro North's maintenance management systems is desirable (i.e. AMS/IMS). Medium Preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Associate's degree (AA) in Electro/ Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline. Demonstrated equivalent experience, education and/or technical credentials to include two (2) additional years may be considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum 3 years' experience locomotive/railcar maintenance experience or related manufacturing/repair environment with report preparation, data collection and trend analysis
- Minimum one (1) years' experience in a managerial and/or leadership role in a maintenance operating environment
The following is/are preferred: - Bachelor's degree in arts/sciences (BA/BS) in Electro/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline

- Final salary is determined experience, skillset, and alignment with compensation practices. The posted range reflects expected compensation and may be updated as market or business needs evolve.
- Employees driving company vehicles will be subject to License Monitoring and must complete defensive driver training once every three years for current MTA drivers; or within 180 days of hire or transfer for an employee entering an authorized driving position.
- To be eligible for consideration for a new role, current MTA employees must complete at least one year of service in their current role prior to applying.
