Supervise and coordinate all materials and logistics department activities, safely delivering the right parts to the right place, on time, and in the right condition to support production in achieving excellence. Lead and develop team members while driving continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, inventory accuracy, productivity, and cost performance. Proactively drive continuous improvement efforts to improve materials key performance indicators (KPIs) and support operational objectives.

Position offers a starting salary range of$95,000 - $121,000 USD

What You Drive at DTNA

Materials Supervisors are responsible for leading the movement of materials throughout operations and ensuring continuous support of production activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lead shipping/receiving processes, material storage, kitting, sequencing, delivery, expediting, disposition, auditing, and other materials activities required to support production and inventory control processes.

• Drive improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and environmental performance while developing team member skills and capabilities within the Materials Department.

• Track time and absenteeism daily for shop floor employees utilizing the company's time-keeping system (Kronos).

• Track, analyze, and manage the materials scorecard to ensure operational success and utilize effective problem-solving methods to reduce plant-related parts shortages and production disruptions.

• Manage HPV (Hours per Vehicle) through effective manpower planning, overtime management, and job balancing activities.

• Understand, support, and implement Lean Manufacturing concepts with the support of the TOS (Truck Operating System) group to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.

• Support and implement company programs, policies, and procedures focused on improving efficiencies, reducing costs, and enhancing operational performance.

• Conduct daily and weekly safety inspections and document ideas, concerns, and improvement opportunities within the Enablon Safety Database.

• Participate in the selection, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and corrective action processes for employees within the department.

• Analyze departmental performance metrics and prepare summarized reports and recommendations for management as needed.

• Co-manage local truck schedules and driver activities supporting inbound and outbound material movement through area docks and bays.

• Partner with third-party support groups (SCVRD, Kontane Logistics, carriers, and other service providers) to ensure quality and execution within materials delivery processes.

• Participate in establishing strategic initiatives, target setting, and departmental improvement objectives.

• Develop team members to be effective problem solvers and drivers of continuous improvement while creating an environment that encourages collaboration, open communication, diverse perspectives, and individual growth.

Knowledge You Should Bring

• BS/BA degree in business administration or logistics/supply chain management and 4 years of relevant experience preferred or 6+ years relevant experience leading team of people in a high volume manufacturing or logistics setting in lieu of a degree

• Demonstrated teamwork skills, including cross-functional collaboration

• A full understanding of operations (production, quality, facilities, materials, etc.).

• Project Management

• Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Project)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• Experience leading materials, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Toyota Production System-related methodologies.

• Experience with workforce management systems such as Kronos.

• Project management experience leading operational improvement initiatives.

• Experience utilizing ERP and inventory management systems.
