Context & Environment

The position reports to the Administrative Manager and has two direct, staff assistant reports.

The incumbent is required to maintain a working knowledge in a variety of functional areas including human resources, training, communication, public relations and payroll.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all operational and informational needs from these processes are met at the plant site, acts as a liaison in providing information to corporate personnel, and maintains relationships with outside parties as necessary.

Supervise, develop, evaluate and discipline site employees in a manner that promotes high level performance.

Coordinate and manage the development, maintenance, and improvement of the methods, processes, and systems necessary for effective administrative functions of HR and Training groups.

Administer the plants human resource function, including employment/termination and personnel issues, in a manner consistent with stated business practices and achievement of desired culture.

Develop and maintain the public relations function, including selected memberships and community support activities, in a manner that protects and enhances our integrity as a business and our positive Company image.

Activities

Review bi-weekly payroll procedures for operations personnel to verify accuracy and the correct application of company policy.

Manage the KRONOS Workforce Timekeeper System.

Maintain updated Position Descriptions for all plant personnel - keep updated to meet ISO standards and for required audits.

Administer and maintain Policy manuals.

Coordinate Site Drug Testing process on a quarterly basis.

Maintain documentation for nested and contract employees.

Responsible for creating purchase requisitions for functions within their scope (i.e. training classes, employee events, etc.)

Coordinate the facilities management function, including office space and equipment planning, to ensure that physical facility requirements for high level performance are met.

Coordinate the training function for professional and hourly personnel in order to promote a culture that encourages learning, trust, and participation.

Actively support all policies and management systems adopted by our site organization including high standards of safety, environmental, quality, cost, availability, technical integrity, and community relations.

The position directs all activities within the HR function in a manner that complies with legal requirements and Company policy.

This person works with employees of all levels at the plant site, maintains relationships with employees at other company locations and the corporate office to facilitate the exchange of information in order to promote fair and consistent application of policies.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in human resources or business is preferred. Other similar degrees or experience may be considered.

5-8 years of administrative experience in at least two of the functional areas listed in responsibilities preferred.

SHRM certification preferred.
