Responsibilities
  • Ensures workers are working in a safe manner and a safe environment as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Participates in planned and unplanned audits of the plant floor and team performance
  • Maintains due diligence and safety-first approach for the organization
  • Communicating daily productivity and initiating continual improvement with production employees
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws
  • Has the ability to interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assign duties
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, improve methods, equipment performance and quality of product
  • Assists in the training of workforce in problem solving, and continuous improvement
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate the activities necessary to drive success
  • Ensure hourly payroll is completed weekly - ADP hours approved, and timesheets submitted
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, communicate verbally with team members, and to write routine reports
  • Good team player with excellent listening skills, flexible approach, good negotiator, bilingual a plus.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and familiar with KPI management.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree a plus

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years Casthouse/Foundry experience.
  • Must have computer skills - Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; Experience with Internet use, and a general understanding of computers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and able to speak effectively to large groups, internal customers, management, or employees within the organization.
  • Qualified in Identifying diverse alloys and hardening elements
  • Ability to solve technical practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Understands, or exposure and training in lean manufacturing a plus
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to supervise a team of 25 or more employees

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $98,000. If you are hired, your annual base pay will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base pay range for the role.
