Overview

What you can expect! 

 

Reporting to the Community Wellness Center Manager, the Community Wellness Center Supervisor supports Community Wellness Center strategies and providing oversight of the day-to-day services and operations of their respective Center. This role serves as the liaison/ambassador to internal and external clients and community partners.

The CWC Supervisor serves as a strategic and operational leader overseeing the delivery, quality, and coordination of wellness programming, curriculum planning, and facility utilization.

 

This role directly supervises CWC program staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals, member experience standards, and quality benchmarks such as HEDIS and MCAS. The CWC Supervisor applies LEAN principles to foster team development, performance management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily operations in alignment with established Community Wellness Center (CWC) policies and procedures, standard operating procedures, and job aids to ensure optimal performance results. Adhere to quantitative and qualitative data collection processes on Center activities, member satisfaction, and program outcomes. Responsible of internal and external building event requests.  Review and submit requests for payments, invoices, and other expenses for approval to the Community Wellness Center Manager. Recommend changes to policies and procedures based on Community Wellness Center needs. Ensure the standards for member rights and responsibilities, such as confidentiality of all CWC participants (members and non-members) is maintained by staff.
  • Collaborate with management from Care Management, Member Services, Health Education, Health Navigator, or other departments when resolving member issues or working on program projects. Implement special projects, new classes or programs assigned by manager and ensure projects are completed in a timely manner. Coordinate high volume projects/requests from multiple facets of the Community Wellness Center.
  • Nurture relationships with community-based organization partners who provide resources and programming to families in the communities we serve. Build relationships with external partners to promote health education, services, and the importance of social connections at the CWCs.
  • Supervise team members and oversee planning, scheduling, and staff efficiencies while adhering to quality standards aligned with member experience. Contribute to a motivating and energized work environment through positive leadership, communication and organizational skills. Responsible for training and development of team members, conducting performance reviews, and communicating and implementing the LEAN model to achieve quality assurance program goals. Coordinate and align multiple staff and partner schedules each month to produce a comprehensive programming calendar and ensure timely promotion across all platforms.
  • Hire, train, and manage support staff, while monitoring and evaluating outcomes. Conduct performance reviews of each team Member within IEHP guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties as required to ensure Health Plan operations and department business needs are successful.
  • Qualifications

    Education & Requirements 

    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience required in addition to some experience in any of the following:
      • Supervision/Lead Capacity
      • Managed Care/IPA/Clinic Setting
      • Community Outreach
      • Experience working with State Health Programs (Medi-Cal and Healthy Families Program)
    • Experience with Community Centers is preferred. Bilingual (English/IEHP Threshold Language) written and verbal skills preferred
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in relevant health, social, or behavioral discipline, from an accredited institution required

     

    Key Qualifications

    • Must have a valid California Driver’s license and valid automobile insurance
    • Must qualify and maintain driving record to drive company vehicles based on IEHP insurance standards of no more than three (3) points
    • Understanding of and sensitive to multi-cultural communities
    • Knowledge of Medi-Cal/managed care environment preferred
    • Knowledge of community resources available in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties
    • Excellent computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Office software
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Excellent time management, organization, and leadership skills
    • High degree of patience and emotional intelligence
    • Ability to make clear presentations
    • Strong judgement and decision making
    • Ability to connect and build rapport with team members, members and community partners
    • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
    • High amount of field work with 25% driving travel required
    • Flexibility to work evenings and some weekends.
