Description:

Supervisor - Building Services - Facilities Operations

The building supervisor supervises the multi-skilled staff members assigned to the buildings. Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining safe working practices for all employees assigned to the units. Ensures the appropriate environmental conditions for patients, staff and visitors. Plans and maintains work schedules and checks work orders to ensure distribution and completion of work. The work includes minor repairs and scheduled maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical systems, lighting, plumbing, carpentry, wind and waterproofing, etc. Reviews completed job orders. Ensures all work is captured on the CMMS system in a timely manner. Attends and participates in weekly scheduling meetings with the Planner/Schedulers. Prepares departmental status reports on work and project activities for senior departmental management. Participates in the preparation and tracking of the operating budget, monthly variance reports, BID proposals, procurement process, etc.
Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction through timely work order completion and aggressive customer service.

This is a full time day position located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

There may be occasional weekend coverage required.

Required Criteria
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC systems, carpentry and Low Voltage & Line Voltage electrical systems
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge in the use of CMMS systems to organize and track staff work performance
  • The ability to organize a work team, measure and assess performance, monitor progress plan projects with multiple trades and coordinate with other workshops to ensure timely work completion.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with superiors, peers and subordinates.

Salary Range:

$112,500-$143,000/Annual
