Position Summary
This Superintendent position oversees the planning, scheduling, dispatching and supervision of the staff and resources of a large geographically remote office/specific worksite to meet the of customer service requests. The role involves ensuring all logistics issues from the initial work request to the closing of the work order are performed efficiently, and ensures the accuracy of customer invoicing, employeecompensation and resource utilization. The position looks for opportunities to convey Tacten27s vision to be a trusted partner by reducing the client27s overall cost to operate and improve customer satisfaction.
Position Details:
- Start Date: August 24, 2026
- Shift: 5/2 rotation, 10-hour days
- Applicants must be local to Fort McMurray, AB
Responsibilities
- Oversee the effective deployment of staff and resources in support of timely and effective customer service
- Responding to verbal and electronic service requests
- Completing work orders that accurately document customer requirements
- Balancing the work demands and customer needs to efficiently plan and schedule employee work assignments
- Ensuring employees possess the skills and expertise needed to perform the available work
- Selecting individuals for specific training and development opportunities to improve functional utilization
- Ensuring employees are provided with all necessary tools and equipment to perform the work
- Providing employees with clear communications/information regarding their work assignments
- Tracking service/work orders, reviewing DTR27s and ensuring invoices appropriately capture costs
- Ensuring collective agreement provisions are consistently applied in the employee/client interaction
Requirements
- Understanding and knowledge of Tacten27s range of technical services and variety of service lines provided in order to appropriately deploy resources
- An understanding of clients27 technical needs to effectively fulfill service requirements
- Knowledge of equipment needed to perform specific tests and inspections
- Knowledge of the applicable collective agreements to ensure compliance with terms and
- Effective supervisory skills
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage a broad range of internal and external contacts
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills to manage difficult customer interactions
- Strong organizational and prioritization
- Consistently demonstrates their understanding of, and compliance with, responsibilities under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations, and Acuren/Tacten Safety and Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures.
