About the role

The Superintendent - Integrated Planning is responsible for leading and engaging a team of professionals in providing technical support including strategic mine design and planning, project management, fleet strategy and technical leadership to ensure safe and efficient mine operations.

This role is being recruited as a replacement position following an internal promotion.

The position will be on a 5/2/4/3 roster working 9.5-hour days and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.

We offer a competitive salary, short and long-term incentive opportunities and future career growth. The compensation range for this role is $185,000 to $215,000 CAD.

Key result areas in this role include:
  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of mine design and planning standards and processes.
  • Ensure technical support provided to operational teams complies with applicable safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively contribute to a Zero Incident culture through Visible Felt Leadership and the promotion of safe work practices.
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers and technical professionals through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
  • Ensure the preparation of mine plans considers risk, profitability and operational performance.
  • Provide short and long-term guidance on geotechnical, drilling and blasting, survey, geology and fleet management considerations.
  • Develop and review mine plans, forecasts, annual budgets and three-year plans.
  • Establish and maintain robust planning standards across the operation.
  • Optimize mine planning scenarios to maximize value and business opportunities.
  • Deliver accurate capital and operating budgets, forecasts and accruals to support effective cost management.
  • Complete month-end reporting and variance analyses.
  • Foster strong working relationships between technical and operational teams.
  • Demonstrate behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining's values.


About you

As a Superintendent - Integrated Planning, you are an experienced mining professional with strong technical expertise, commercial acumen and leadership capability. You thrive in a collaborative environment and have a proven ability to develop people, optimize mine plans and deliver operational results.

Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering. P'Eng Designation in Ontario (or the ability to obtain) preferred.


Experience
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in an underground mining environment, including demonstrated success in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge in mine planning, scheduling and drill and blast activities in a narrow vein underground mining environment.
  • Demonstrated competence with mine planning software, Deswik experience considered an asset.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience developing and managing budgets.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor, coach and develop technical teams.
  • Ability to implement and communicate plans to meet operational targets.
