Full Job Description
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations, workforce management, installation planning, and project coordination for assigned projects. This role ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project drawings, schedules, and company standards. The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader for Reds, coordinating with Project Managers, customers, automation contractors, mechanical contractors, and internal departments to ensure successful project execution.

This position typically works 8 hours per day/6 hours per week. This position requires travel to sites across the United States.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule daily work activities for crews and subcontractors
  • Order materials, maintain inventory, allocate materials and perform returns/scrap
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Interpret blueprints and plan work accordingly; maintain redlines
  • Understand the scope of the project and recognize need for change orders
  • Manage the project schedule; promptly communicate with the PM regarding any risks to meeting the schedule
  • Manage the project budget including headcount, materials and equipment
  • Supervise all staff on site; coordinate any disciplinary actions or terminations with the PM and HR
  • Coordinate with mechanical contractors and other trades to ensure access and installation readiness.
  • Document and Communicate field constraints or sequencing issues that may impact the installation schedule
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor project progress and adjust resources to meet deadlines and productivity goals
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and code compliance
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to track budgets, costs, and change orders
  • Lead jobsite meetings, including safety briefings and coordination meetings
  • Foster a positive, productive, and accountable work environment

Qualifications
  • 3 or more years of experience in the electrical field
  • Prior management experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and ability to update spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with managing a budget
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to interpret blueprints
  • OSHA 30 Certification

  • Lifting (Frequent): Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance.
  • Standing/Walking (Frequent): Required to stand or walk for long periods during the workday, often in confined or challenging environments.
  • Bending and Stooping (Frequent): Must be able to bend, twist, squat, kneel, and reach overhead as part of daily duties when installing, troubleshooting, or repairing equipment.
  • Climbing (Frequent): Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, or stairs and work at heights of up to 30 feet or more, using fall protection as required.
  • Hand/Eye Coordination: Must have excellent hand-eye coordination for handling tools, wiring, and equipment with precision.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, grasp, and manipulate electrical tools, components, and materials.
  • Vision: Must have the ability to see and distinguish colors, read schematics, blueprints, and labels, and identify equipment faults and wiring issues.
  • Stamina: Must have the physical stamina to work long shifts, including overtime or weekend work, if needed.
  • Work Environment: Work may be performed in noisy, hot, cold, or humid environments and may require exposure to electrical hazards, confined spaces, or heights.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Frequent): Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection, as dictated by safety standards.
