Superintendent - FabricationPosition OverviewAs Superintendent - Fabrication, you'll oversee shop and field fabrication operations for sheet metal, piping, and mechanical components, ensuring accurate, timely production for commercial projects. Lead fabrication teams to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency in support of installations nationwide. Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise fabrication of ductwork, piping, supports, and custom components per blueprints/specs.
- Manage shop workflow, material inventory, equipment maintenance, and crew assignments.
- Enforce safety standards, quality checks, and lean fabrication practices.
- Coordinate with project superintendents and field teams for just-in-time delivery.
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure compliance with codes/standards.
- Train and mentor fabricators on techniques and safety.
- Track productivity, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities- Yes - Lead fabrication shop teams and welders/fitters; manage performance, training, safety.
Requirements/Qualifications- Experience: 7+ years in mechanical fabrication (sheet metal/piping), 3+ years supervisory.
- Education: High school/GED; trade certifications preferred.
- Physical Demands: Shop/field; heavy lifting, standing, tool use.
- Work Environment/Safety: Fabrication shop/construction sites; PPE/safety critical.
Required Skills- Fabrication tools/welding, blueprint interpretation, inventory management.
- Team supervision, quality control, safety protocols.
Pay Range: $110,000 - $115,000 per year
