Superintendent Electrical - Fort St. John
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent, Electrical, to join our team in Fort St. John, British Columbia. In this leadership role, you will oversee industrial electrical construction projects, manage field operations, and ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position is ideal for a strong leader with extensive industrial construction experience and a proven ability to manage crews, schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, coordinate, direct, and schedule electrical field personnel to meet project objectives
• Supervise electrical construction activities while ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards
• Assist in optimizing electrical and mechanical design drawings and field execution plans
• Support preparation, coordination, and management of electrical subcontractors and vendors
• Monitor project progress, manpower, productivity, and implement corrective actions as required
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
• Prepare and review project progress reports, cost tracking, scheduling updates, and material usage documentation
• Coordinate commissioning, turnover, and project closeout activities
• Promote and enforce PTW's safety culture and OH&S compliance standards
• Mentor forepersons, journeypersons, apprentices, and field personnel
• Perform additional duties as required to support project success
Qualifications / Requirements
• Journeyperson Electrician Certificate (Red Seal preferred)
• 10+ years of industrial electrical construction experience in a contractor-based environment
• Previous experience in a Superintendent or senior leadership role
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems integration within industrial construction projects
• Ability to read and interpret Instrumentation, Electrical, and P&ID drawings
• Strong understanding of industrial construction techniques and work practices
• Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and OH&S regulations
• Demonstrated leadership in safety, workforce management, cost control, scheduling, and project execution
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project coordination software considered an asset
• Valid H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Standard First Aid (Level A or C with CPR/AED), and CSTS 2020
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work flexible schedules including overtime, weekends, and shift work
• Comfortable working in varied environments including heights, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions
