Position DescriptionHB Trenchless - Tunnel SuperintendentAbout the RoleWe're seeking an
experienced Superintendent to join our growing team. In this role, you'll oversee the day-to-day field operations of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and in accordance with company quality standards.

What You'll Do- Lead daily field operations across utility and infrastructure construction projects, including sitework, excavation, trenching, and pipe installation.
- Ensure all work aligns with project plans, specifications, quality expectations, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain productivity, safety, and compliance.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks, while enforcing OSHA standards and company safety procedures.
- Perform site inspections, identify hazards, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and maintain project schedules and ensure milestone achievement.
- Coordinate delivery and utilization of labor, equipment, materials, and resources to support project objectives.
- Monitor subcontractor and vendor performance to ensure work meets safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping records, and project documentation.
- Identify and resolve field issues related to personnel, equipment, materials, and project delays.
- Mentor field employees and foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and safety leadership.
Position RequirementsQualifications: - Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar field leadership role
- Experience managing large-scale civil or utility infrastructure projects (excavation, trenching, pipeline installation)
- Background in heavy civil construction, foundations, or drilling operations preferred
Skills & Competencies- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methods, and safety standards
- Effective communication skills across field teams and stakeholders
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office tools
Education- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
Certifications- OSHA 30 certification required
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- PMP or similar certification is a plus
Physical Requirements- Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
