Job DescriptionThe Superintendent is responsible for coordinating and completing specific projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
Responsibilities- Working with the project manager to ensure implementation of Amico's safety program, including integrating the safety program into all site plans and procedures and adhering to all safety and record-keeping requirements.
- Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring proper protocol is implemented by craft and all.
- Promote and maintain a productive "team" working environment within Amico and affiliated Corporations.
- Maintain quality of the highest standard to maintain the Amico corporate image in the community.
- Direct field operations in the delivery of projects by adhering to schedules, budgets, safety, and risk.
- Assist with the creation of and review of subcontractor scopes of work and evaluations.
- Effectively manage field employees by providing guidance and leadership on construction activities and developing effective communication between field and other project staff.
- Supervising, directing, coaching, training, and mentoring the project team.
- Developing and driving the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team.
- Ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met while remaining compliant with budget and quality standards.
- Communicating effectively with trades and ensuring that performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met.
- Maintain daily site records and safety documentation.
- Consistently collaborating with construction/project manager and project team.
- Proactively managing potential problems, work interferences, and schedule conflicts/setbacks.
- Other duties as assigned by the Company, related to the successful execution of the work.
Qualifications- Post-Secondary school education in an Engineering/Construction Management discipline is preferred
- Previous site superintendent experience is required
- Individual must have excellent knowledge of contracts, industry practices and codes
- Must possess strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
- Problem solving skills and troubleshooting knowledge
- Must be proficient in the English language
- Previous HCSS software experience is preferred
- Previous scheduling experience is preferred
- Ability to manage and facilitate numerous projects
- Self-motivated, self-dedicated, and result oriented
- Strong organizational, written and communication skills
- Ability to work with tight deadlines, multitask and follow up
- Strong computer skills, using MS Office
- Flexibility to work varying schedules
- Valid G Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle, required
- MTO experience, an asset
- The ability to successfully apply a mix of technical expertise, team coordination skills, and attention to detail. These contributions will help deliver projects that meet expectations.
