Job SummaryThe Plant Superintendent is responsible for managing daily operations of the quarry, including supervision of all hourly employees. Responsible for budgeting; mine planning; permitting; working as a member of the plant management team to achieve operational goals and objectives; managing contracts and contractors; and community relations.
Job Responsibilities- Monitor cost and help maintain costs in the quarry/crushing operation
- Develop and maintain a safe and environmentally compliant operation with the assistance of the Safety and Environmental Representatives
- Help develop new operational methods to reduce costs and produce a more consistent feed to the plant
- Interface with Corporate Mining staff as well as local QC staff to develop the short-term and long-term mining plan
- Direct production to meet quality and quantity requirements and coordinate adjustments to the production schedule as needed
- Manage employee time and attendance
- Reviewing daily pre-shift inspections, listing required repairs and providing this to the mobile maintenance vendor
- Responsible for the scheduling and performance of the drilling and blasting program
- Obtaining and tracking requested fixed plant repairs by the production crew and coordinating with Maintenance Manager
- Perform daily work area inspection and sign required documentation
- Maintain purchasing of regular materials for the operation and work with Procurement to purchase routine materials
- Maintains operational compliance with zoning and related permits
- Develop annual budget for the operation
- Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times
- Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Mining or Civil Engineering preferred
- 3 years of quarry supervision experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Must be computer literate with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and possibly mine planning software
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Able to analyze information and drive initiatives
- Bi-lingual (a plus)

The expected base compensation for this position ranges from $76,600 to $97,300 depending on, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skill sets, experience, and education
