ABOUT THE ROLEThe GSW Substation General Foreman is responsible for the supervision, scheduling and coordination of all electrical substation field installation crews.
Essential Functions- Manage and schedule multiple field crews and projects.
- Responsible for training and development of field crew and foreman.
- Build and maintain relationships with the customer, inspectors and other trades.
- Coordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to identify and resolve any conflicts.
- Work closely with foremen and field crews to ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards.
- Manage material and personnel requirements necessary to meet the project schedule and provides best course of action for construction methods.
- Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures as well as safety program requirements and construction practices.
- May hold daily, weekly and/or monthly safety meetings.
- Document all violations, provide appropriate notification and recommend and/or implement correction actions as required.
- Responsible for efficient use of materials and equipment.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
- Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards
ABOUT YOUQualifications- Minimum 10 years of experience in the electrical trades, Journeyman Electrician level or higher is required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a lead role within the electrical field required
- Must have experience in all aspects of low voltage to medium voltage commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
- Experience working in field substation projects both brownfield and greenfield
Preferred Education- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of Substation Electrician Apprenticeship
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Ability to manage multiple field installation crews
- Strong understanding of electrical installations standards and codes as well as construction practices used for electrical construction
- Proficient in the development and implementation of company and contract procedures to include safety, compliance, and documentation of a project
- Certified in CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10
- Thorough knowledge of reading and interpreting plans, specifications and contract documents
- Proficiency with MS Project and MS Suite such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to travel as needed
- Strong work ethic, good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
